Our Worship Service
What to expect in our Worship Service
Worship at Monroe Street is a blend of traditional and international music and liturgy. We value the church’s tradition, but we also love how the Spirit moves us during the service. Music from our United Methodist Hymnal and other sources provides countless options for vocal music.
Our preaching is biblically based and encourages us to link the Word with how we live our lives together. We challenge those in attendance to go out and serve one another and the community, making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
We strive to make our worship experience intergenerational. Our worship services invite people of different ages to offer their gifts to God, connecting the generations in one fellowship with Christ.
After worship, we invite everyone to join us for coffee and fellowship in the back of the sanctuary.
What’s available for children and youth?
Children and youth are welcome in our Sunday morning worship. Parents and kids pray, sing, and learn together, along with the rest of our community. We invite younger children to join us in the chapel for a Bible story and craft during the sermon time. Part of learning to worship as a family is teaching children “how to attend church,” and we realize there’s likely to be some noise and mayhem here and there.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to wear a mask?
We are no longer requiring masks, but in the interest of protecting yourself and others of the congregation, you are encouraged to wear a mask if you desire to do so.
Do I need to be United Methodist or even Christian to come?
No. All are welcome here. We don’t check IDs.
What if you’re serving Communion?
On the first Sunday of every month, worship includes the sacrament of Communion. Jesus invited everyone to his table, so we invite everyone to God’s table.

Yes! We are a member of the Reconciling Ministries Network.
What should I wear?
Clothes. We don’t care what kind.
