Fellowship Groups
Praise be to God.
At Monroe Street United Methodist Church, our prayer and study groups provide opportunities to pursue deep intimacy and quiet communing with Christ as well as fellowship with other believers.
Prayer Groups
Men’s Prayer Breakfast takes place on the first and third Thursdays of the month at 7:30 a.m. A devotional discussion is held over breakfast at Uncle John’s Pancake House on Secor Road.
The Email Prayer Chain shares prayer requests from members and friends. You can request prayers or ask to join the group by clicking here.
Sacred Stories is a small prayer group that meets weekly. We practice Lectio Divina (Latin for “Divine Reading”), an ancient prayer pattern that invites us to listen as God speaks to us through a text of Scripture. A time of sharing follows, during which we relate stories about our faith and connect them with God’s Story. We conclude the hour with prayer and affirmations as we see and celebrate the Christ we meet in one another.
Study Groups
The church hosts a multi-week Book Studies discussion on Saturday mornings from 10:30 a.m. to noon several times a year. The group is open to all who are interested.
The Beacon and Bridge Bible Study is an interesting and fun mix of church members, neighbors, and friends. We meet every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. to study together and share.
Fellowship Groups
The Lunch Bunchers group meets for lunch on the third Saturday of each month at various area restaurants. Check the weekly email newsletter for information about meeting locations and who to call.
